Change Perspective
I used to believe life is a pain,
empty skies and heavy chains.
Secrets, lies and loved ones lost,
fragile times turned my heart to frost.
I searched for love, the one that's true,
forsaken self care to get through.
If only then that I could see,
the seed of who I’m meant to be.
I could not bloom, thoughts in the dark,
choices, dreams, required a spark.
Embers hid beneath my pain,
the burning desire to rise again.
Change perspective, not set in stone,
open doors to be my own.
Life is not carved, I changed my view,
I broke the mold, I began anew.
The pain once sharp, softens all its edge,
unfolding petals from the quiet hedge.
Now in stillness I smile, I breathe,
I let go of all I used to grieve.
For life, this moment, in my hands,
I shape my path, with kinder plans.
