Set Him Free

We like to put things in a box,

tick it, name it, entrance blocked.

A girl is pink, a boy is blue,

whoever said that's even true.

A boy grows up to be a man,

he must be firm, steady, strong to stand.

But why must he carry all the weight,

expected always to guard the gates.

What we're taught is not always right,

boys don't always want to fight.

Boys have feelings same as girls,

vulnerable like the rest of the world.

So let's be kind and let him be,

whatever emotions disguised, unseen.

For when we chose to set him free,

weight undone, unchained with key.
