Fear
Fear lingers near the silent gate,
A hush that tempts the hand of fate.
It says, “Stay here, where all is known,”
But comfort can turn our hearts to stone.
The road ahead is steep and wide,
Uncertain shadows stretching on each side.
Yet every dream we’ve ever chased,
lies just beyond the fear we faced.
For if we let that voice decide,
we trade our wings for chains that hide.
Courage comes when hearts align;
we find the chains were self designed.
For when we can rise, bold and free;
we discover the lock was fear,
and we held the key.
